27 December, 1999 - (SEASON ONE/S1)

mIRC - Internet Relay Chat
IRC is a terrific chatting program that let's you talk with users all over the world. It's very text based which makes it extremely fast.

Soccer All Stars have their 'own' channel on IRC which you can visit on a regular basis to chat with fans and other managers of the game.

Important announcements and other things will take place here. You will usually find one of the Executive Board members on hand to help with any questions you may have.

To log into the Soccer All Stars chat room you need:

1) To download IRC and install it - www.mirc.com or www.irc.com

2) To log on to any Efnet server

3) And to join the #sas channel

mIRC Tutorial
For those of you still unsure how to use it, a tutorial with screenshots can be viewed by clicking HERE!!!

#SAS RULES

There are several rules you must obey when in the channel. Failure to comply and you will face punishment.

1)  No swearing, racial, sexual or silly remarks
2)  No flooding (Repeatedly entering text on the screen)
3) No begging for op status or voice's. You gain them on merit
4) No advertising (including personal/other websites)
5) No back chatting OP's (OP's are the people who run the channel)
6) No changing the text colours
7)  No cloning other managers
8) No pretending to be someone else or directly deceiving in any manner whatsoever
9) Listen to the OPs at all times for further instructions etc.
10) No usage or IRC scripts of any kind.
11) Silly behavior is not acceptable regardless of who you are
12) No warez talk or links are allowed in the channel

- Failure to comply with any of the above rules will see you either kicked, temporary banned or permanently banned. However, we will warn you first and if you continue to abuse the rules then you will be dealt with. A lot have been left out due to common sense.

- The same goes for the OP's. They are not allowed to abuse their authority and if seen doing so then they will be dealt with.

- All chat in the channel is monitored by the bots. Therefore all chat's are effectively logged and can be viewed at a later date by a board member. So let that be a warning to anyone who thinks they can get away with messing around when a SAS Executive Board member is not around.

GUIDE:

OPS: Ops are the people who run/control the channel. Ops are likely to be members of the SAS Executive Board. You can distinguish an OP easily as he or she will have an '@' before their nickname. For example, SK would be seen as @SK

BOTS: Are also distinguished by an '@' before their name. However bots are not real people and are just there to keep the channel from being over run. Bot's are can also be known as robots. @Jaws, @Oddjob, @Rebrov and @MrBond are the #sas bots, they are not real folks so quit talking to them ;)

VOICE: Voice is awarded by OPs on merit. If your behaving well you will see a '+' appear before your name. For example +SK. This means that if we moderate the channel (meaning nobody can speak) people who have '+' are allowed to speak. You may wonder why we'd moderate a channel. We'll sometimes we'll have important announcements to make and will need you to see what we're saying.

NOTE: Occasionally on entering the room it's possible that a manager will accidentally be OP'ed with the SAS Board Members being un-OP'ed. If this happens you MUST leave the channel when asked so the SAS Executive Board can resume control. Failure to do so will see you face severe punishment.
