ScreamKing speaks about the Fantasy Football Scene
Well, it's been well over a year since I came onto the internet, possibly 17 months since I've been online... I'm too lazy to count it ;)

I started with SAS and am now back with SAS which is absolutely great! However I'm not here to talk about SAS but to talk about the other sites that were made because of SAS.

When I came onto the net I was looking for a site similar to SAS. I wanted somewhere fun to come that was free that basically offered everything here but probably a lot more.

I of course found nothing. Not one single site like it. I searched for absolutely ages but without success. So then I made SAS... in hope someone would copy and make a league so I could play or participate in.

I'm delighted to say a long time down the line, a year almost for most of you, we've seen the emergence of many Fantasy Football sites.

Sites such as Dream Teams, Euro League, Footiwarp, Top Flight Manager, Ultimate Football League, European Dream League, Interactive Soccer Manager and Total Football 99 all spring to mind. I know there has been a lot more, but these sites are the ones I remember most as I write this.

It's such a great feeling to know people enjoyed my site so much it inspired them to make their own. Even if they didn't make the site because they liked mine, they wouldn't have done it had they not seen SAS.

I know some sites, Footiwarp for instance were inspired not by SAS, but by my Football Mania. But it's the same thing. It's great too see sites emerging. It's touching, relieving and memorable.

What's so good about it, is that sites are now inspiring other sites. European Dream League for instance were inspired by Euro League and Ultimate Football League were inspired by Footiwarp.

The popularity is now starting to slowly grow and grow upon the internet. I bet in one year from now people will no longer know anything about SAS as it will eventually exploded in hundreds of fans making sites of their own!

I just hope that everyone remembers where it all started and why. I wanted to have a free and fun place to visit... I'm sure you did too.

The only thing I do regret not having was the opportunity to play. Everyone enjoyed the atmosphere. Perhaps the buzz of waiting to see their results and other RPs. This wasn't the case for me as I was the one deciding and writing. My buzz came from seeing everyone else's reaction.

I know I had the opportunity to join other sites and play but after I'd started my own it wasn't the same feeling. I already knew how the sites were run so therefore I never felt like playing.

But I am still happy to have contributed to the Fantasy Football scene. I've made so many friends. Perhaps a few enemies too but nothing is perfect :)

I really appreciate that fact, that is has brought me more friends than anything else... When I started this thing there were no HTML editors or so on. It was pure HTML and honest hard work. But it paid off! At the time I never thought I'd get as far as I could, but I have one great attribute... that's determination. I had determination to succeed and finish what I started... let's just hope that you'll be as determined as I was, and that... I'm not finished yet :)

Just remember one thing... if you've made great friends through Fantasy Football, whether it's now or later, you can thank Soccer All Stars.

Cheers.
